My issue with UFC.
Ok boxing in general may be fixed. It also has numerous rules and may be boring to some. It however has one thing that I really feel the UFC is really missing.
There is always new talent in boxing. It is not a constant stream of the same fight different day. Unless of course you just watch PPV boxing, then there are many rematches. Of course I may be wrong and maybe they just do not televise the new talent or whatever. If that is the case they really should. Even if the fights are even very lame or awkward. I swear in many ways it reminds me of pro wrestling. Each match is pre ordained or a grudge match. What is wrong with just letting people into the octagon and letting the beat the fuck out of each other for a purse?

I disagree. There are hundreds of guys that do this. Some of them lack funding and training maybe. None of the fighters have had jack shit for money. You have to remember that this all wasn't as popular even a year ago as it is now.
Supply and demand. It'll just get better and better I'm sure. |

yeah, have to disagree here. UFC brings in new fighters on every card and the Ultimate Fighter series pretty much introduces the world to a group of new fighters twice a year (exception to this season - The Comeback). As far as grudge matches...not all of them are like that, but what has made the UFC successful to this point has been marketing. They do an EXCELLENT job of marketing their fights and specifically their main events. I don't find anything about the UFC to be boring or planned out at all.
I don't even watch boxing anymore and haven't for a long time...that shit is more fixed then pro wrestling.

I do not care if they lack training, have them fight other newbies. A lot of early on boxing was done this way. They have TV slots, they have advertisers, they have viewers. What is the excuse? Or pardon my ignorance, are all the fighters on a contract basis and get paid a salary or something?

it seems that it's growing quite quickly as a sport and gaining more popularity any day. I suppose the influx of new talent will have to happen at some point.
