Any Designers Around? Need a Quick Tip
I am saving a gif in photo shop with a transparent background but I am getting white dots around the outside of the image. I can't remember what I need to do to get rid of them. Can someone help me out real quick? Would appreciate it.

Not sure, but maybe it's that you're setting your transparency to difussion 100%? Try cutting it down? I can't remember either.

I am sorry but I have no idea what PNG 24 is. Is that a setting in adobe when I am trying to save for web because I do not see it there. Where would I find this mysterious PNG 24?

I am using PhotoshopCS 8.0 and my PNG does not give me an option for 8 or 24 but I think the standard one is going to work. Do PNG images work the same as JPEGs when they are on a site? Are they compatible with all browsers?
Sorry if dumb questions, I am not a designer. Just know enough about Photoshop to get by, usually.

Ok I lied, I don't have it figured out. Looked good in dreamweaver with the PNG setting but in IE it has a gray background. Think I am going to have to leave this one up to a professional.

I don't have it on hand, but it's out there. Makes it work in IE without a hitch.

One more bump hopefully I can get some detailed help out there. Let me tell you the exact scenerio. I have a trasparent gif icon that I need to place on multiple colored backgrounds so I can't select the matte to be one specific color. The problem is that around the edges of the icon it has white specs when placed on any background that has color on it. Here is an example of what I see.
![]() as you can see there are white spaces all around the .two .gif icons. If you can give me a step by step it would be appriciated.

i think that is always an issue. Someone mentioned making the image on a gray background that fits within the box you need it to be in. that is the best solution I THINK. Anything with rough edges has this problem.
