These days that's not too old. I am 39 and am going to get my tops straightened. Again, actually, since I had braces as a teen and my wisdom teeth caused my shit to get all wacked years later.
I'm looking into that InvisAlign thing, kind of a retainer that moves your teeth into place.

Go for it man! It will boost your self-image 1,000-fold. And with new technology you can get those invisible braces -- very hard to detct. I just finished paying off my sons braces last month! Those babies are all mine now!

i had them when i was a teen and hated them with a passion...

everytime they got adjusted i could only eat soft food like soups or yoghurt for a week...

but now my teeth are looking good

so i would say it was worth it.

the effect gets less good the older you are....

Go for it bro... I worked tech for a dental/orthodontal school for a bit... the case studies I've seen would make you shudder and cry... trust me.

Any... I repeat any dental or othodontric issues you have, no matter how small, correct as quickly as possible, even if only cosmetic. Dental problems only get much... much worse.

For real... get http://www.invisalign.com/ if you can..

I had braces when i was a kid, my teeth were real screwed up.

After they were all fixed my wisdom teeth came in and pushed my teeth around a bit. It wasnt too bad, but it was enough to make me want to do something about it. I got invisalign the next time...

I think for extreme cases you still may need braces, but if your teeth arent too jacked up they can do invisalign. I've been through both.. Invisalign is definately the way to go if you can do it. Braces are pure hell.

With invisalign they will give you usually like 3 months worth of retainers, and you dont have to go back till you need the next set. With braces your in the orthodontists office every month getting your wires changed. Its a hassle. Plus you can take off invisalign off when you eat. Nothing worse than having food stuck in your braces all day. Braces also tend to really chew up the inside of your mouth.

Go for it.
THey have "transparent" braces now, so all people will see is the wire.
Shit hurts when they first put them on and whenever they get adjusted but it isn't terrible.

I don't think it's too late for you. And I'm pretty sure you'll love the results.

I'm 23, and I started using it last year (the ones that you can take it out, so I just use it to sleep). So far I'm VERY happy with the results.

These are only good if you have maybe one tooth out of line.. If your teeth are in bad shape they will not give you these. Going to have to get the train tracks. But you can get those clear too.. I had the clear braces myself. Very low key.

I got braces when I was 24, never had them as a teen either. It's well worth it if you are self-conscious enough about your teeth to not smile in pictures! I think straight teeth are important to have for a number of reasons.

i first got braces when i was a junior in high school. i got them off when i was almost 20 years old.. i had the plain old metal braces.. nothing fancy or camoflauge about them.

i'm sure it will be different in your case since you're not female, but i got a TON of interest from guys as a result of having braces.. some flat out liked the actual braces and some liked them because they made me look younger.

even without any positive attention from them, i didn't mind them. i think the end result is 110% worth it! the night i got them off, i felt like a rock star. and the response was even more overwhelming.. i used to get tons of compliments on my smile.

BUT a word to the wise. notice i said i *used* to get compliments on it..

one year i went on vacation and forgot to bring my retainer. i realized as soon as i got there and i knew right away that i was doomed. so of course, my teeth began to shift and by the time i got home my retainer wouldn't fit over my teeth anymore. it wasn't physically noticeable, but just enough movement to screw things up. my orthodontist went out of practice and i was totally broke. my parents weren't going to help me pay for a replacement either.. so yeah. my teeth now are shifting more and more each year and are a serious self esteem issue for me.

i looked into invisalign.. and i really want to do it. but again.. it's a lot of money.

i totally recommend getting them, though. it made for a nice few years with straight teeth!

i had braces for a year or two when i was younger, sorted my chompers out fine.

not sure what the age limit is on them.. I just know they like to straighten teeth as your jaw grows so they don't have to resort to taking teeth out to make room for movement

definitely worth it
