I have an old dell inspiron 5100 laptop that I just upgraded the ram on. The computer takes pc2100 ram, but I bought ram that stated it was compatible with PC2100 and direct from manufacturer. The ram is PC2700. The problem I am running into is that it boots and shuts down fine, but when I leave it on and shut the lid for it to hibernate, when it comes back on I get the blue screen of death. The ram is not bad, I have tested it in another laptop. Can anyone help me or has anyone else experienced this and how can I get it fixed.
I'm trying to go up to a gig on my laptop. Thanks |
