512 in my laptop. Had it two years so thats a lot of RAM in it for the time I got it, need a new one tho :)

Best is always subjective. Me personally I love corsair because I've never had a problem with their ram (I've had to RMA a couple of sticks of OCZ and Mushkin). Right now some of the fastest memory soon-to-be available (should be shipping within the next two weeks) is Corsair?s XMS2 Dominator PC2-8888, but it comes at a hefty fucking price (Expected price to be around $600-$650 for 2Gb). It may be the fastest, but its' probably the worst when compared to price vs. performance ratio... so again, best is ALWAYS subjective.

my new graphics/editing box has 4GB Ram and a pair of dual core Xeon processors. It's friggin screaming fast.

4GB with a 64 bit OS so I can use all 4GB.
