What should I look when buying a new LCD monitor?

What specs should I look for when buying a new LCD monitor?

I want to buy 4 new monitors here for the office and I would appreciate the help.

I really like the Sony's.... Never heard of "Pilot" before....

The cheap ones over here are Aoc, Proview, Waytec and Bright....

I'm not going for the cheapest ones.... Business is good right now...

LCD's are like dicks, the only thing that matters is SIZE.

I picked up one of these acer ferrari's recently, works great
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...108&CatId=1410

If you don't care about the ferrari logo and paint job then theres a normal acer model that is pretty much identical and about $50 less. The guy at the place I bought it from said acer lcd's are some of the best, but i really dont know a whole lot other than that.

Contrast ratio will be in the specs, and make sure the native resolution is something you like because lcd quality depends alot on whether or not the screen is set to its native resolution.

Contrast ratio should be listed in the specs... 1:100 would be a very low contrast ratio and 1:1000 would be a very high contrast ratio. Higher is better (means darker blacks and brighter whites).

It will also tell you whether its widescreen or not, i'd definately recommend widescreen.

ya newer one is 225bw 22" widescreen. I have two, and I love them. Though a few people have backlight issues, I dont.

I just bought a 19', LG monitor [L1919S SF], with contrast 1400:1 and view angle 160/160.
I'm pretty satisfied (the price is quite low ~ 250$)

I second that. I got a SyncMaster 913B. I've had it for more than a yeah and I couldn't be happier.

But as ppl have mentioned before, contrast is important. The higher ratio the closer to black will the screen show instead of gray. I think 1:1000 contrast ratio is pretty normal, it's a decent screen.

I think mine is 1:700 lol, but then again it's a year old or so..
