Ebay sellers, in here!

So a guy who just registered on ebay bought my laptop and paid me via paypal with an UNCONFIRMED address.

I am ineligible for seller protection.

What do I do?

Transfer the money out of your paypal account, then ship the laptop

The fact that's it's from an unconfirmed address would convince me enough not to send it.

I'm sick of getting fucked at ebay now. Too many asshats...

This is exactly what to do

I buy stuff all the time from ebay sellers and my shipping address is UNCONFIRMED, and that is, it seems, what all the sellers I buy from do.

its risky man, you run a huge chance of getting a chargeback. Id say , take the money out and tell that guy he needs to confirm his address before you ship.

FYI, taking the money out of paypal and waiting for it to clear in your bank account is NOT going to protect you one bit. Paypal can reverse a withdrawl and you'll be fucked.

I speak from experience.

They cant pull back out of your checking without permission. However they can send it to collections on you. I just went through this for 5k. The chargeback was over 40 days old.

Paypal Email:
We have conducted a review of a payment that you received. In this case, returning the funds to the sender was determined to be the appropriate action, and we have completed a reversal of the payment.

They reversed $1,400 on me.

Give back money, even if you take money out and they do a chargeback paypal can take the money back from your bank or checking account or cc.

Right, but was your paypal account empty? They cant withdraw it out of your backup checking account without permission.

Should always put in a clause in the auction, "no one with less than 25 feedback may bid", or something similar. Also lots of people demand confirmed addresses only. Definitely a good way to go.

Just give back the money and take the negative feedback and think of it as an unfortunate lesson.

I would bet money this guy is a scammer. Laptops are always favourites for the thieves.

Yep it was empty. I drained it after payment. They took the money out of my checking account.
