Epassporte and planetickets [rant]

that's hell..

Purchased a package for an upcoming trip on expedia, all went fine filled out the epass info and the cvv #. Then I get a message that it wont go through because it's a foreign bank and the funds can not be verified. Then I check my epassporte and guess what the funds that couldn't be verified are now out of my epass and pending. So No ticket, No money available, and expedia tells me it will be up to 72 hours before it is released back...

I have more cards so it's no biggie but this shit is frustrating. What the hell CAN I do with epass? other then pay a shitload of money to load some funds in there?

[/rant]

You're suprised you can't use a foreign pre-paid electron visa to purchase plane tickets?

Yep, they trough the Visa sign around like you can use it as such, and I have purchased a thousand and two things with it, from hotel rooms to dvd's. And I have no problem if they say we wont accept that card, but don't tell me you can't verify the funds while they are pending in the account. Doesn't make sense.

that sounds like the airline's issue not epassportes.

It seems to me, you could have an epassporte card sent to you from a program, under any name you wanted (in theory). And that the airlines would screen for this type of possibility.

Thats all i'm saying.

Hotels etc. wouldn't care....the only security risk there, is trashing a room.

Yeah, I guess that is a possibility. However wouldn't I have to verify who I am when I check into my flight?

No matter whose fault it is, it's not yours but you're the one who has to suffer.

It's a shame when big companies just point their fingers at each other and turn their backs on the customer.
