I have a mainstream client that uses them. They frequently lose connectivity for short periods (seconds to a couple of minutes), but haven't had a major outage recently.

Netcraft reports their uptime as stellar.

We used them for shared hosting in Germany, where the mother company is based, a couple of years ago. Sucked big time. They made a stink about porn, their servers were slow because they had problems with load balancing.

I use them for several clients who have dedicated servers as well as several on virtual hosting.

no significant problems with them.. once in while the get DDOS, and slows down email.

They also used to get blocked alot by AOL when they had the free hosting for 3 years plan.... i have all my various email addresses there and am happy to recommend them.

they don't allow adult.. but for mainstream.. low prices and you get free domains with the packages.

click on my 1and 1 affiliate link if you are going to check them out and potentially use them.

i hosted a text tgp on a 1and1 shared plan only reason i dropped it was theres cheaper hosting elsewhwere. however i always recomend 1and1 to mainstream customers as i never had a problem with them no site outages etc, imho if your not breaking the law as far as porn goes go for 1 and 1

i have a small account with them ( adult seo ) for several years.. no major problems and their servers seem to have more features/updated than your average host..
i would give them a 7/10

I use/used and recommend the following

1&1 , webair , phatservers , gotwebhost.com and a few others i forget offhand

i have 1 dedicated server at 1and1. based on my experience i would gladly recommend them, though i have not hosted adult content there. their hardware/software has been great, i am satisfied with the speed and uptime, their tech support has been responsive, and they have good prices. i should note, however, that their tech support though quite responsive, does not seem to be the most knowledgable bunch and i have wasted more time than i would have liked talking with them in circles on a couple different occasions.

I used to have a small virtual account there for seo reasons. Their service was good (not great). Alot better than for example dreamhost. Their support team is very responsive, but lacks, imo, alot of experience.

I'd recommend Jaguar PC. I've been through many and I've stuck with JPC because I've never seen better support anywhere.
