who do you use for health insurance? Ever heard of "MEGA"?

I'm currently with Assurant, but they are jerking me around about paying some pretty normal routine doctor visits, so I'm breaking up with them.

I'm considering going with MEGA (heard an ad for them on Sirius radio, met with an agent recently). Who do you use?

I have Mega, I believe, through NASE (National Ass of Self Employed.)
They're Ok. But I had trouble getting coverage so I'm happy to have what I have.

How long have you been with Mega? Any experiences yet, other than the monthly fisting?

Cigna. I had Blue Cross and Blue Shield but found that Cigna is better overall.

Go here and get some. For your age the monthly premiums will be cheap and it's the best insurance you can have down here, imo. I think it will give you a direct quote right on the site and you can sign up without even speaking to someone.

This is the main site if you're in other states. Just put your zip code in.

yes, have had anthem for years on family plan.

not the cheapest, but ok.

you kids without health insurance need to understand something.

before you buy the next toy, or go on your next coked out vacation weekend think beyond yourself and the needs of your family.

because if shit happens (and it does) if you don't have coverage and a family member has a serious pricey condition it can mean life or death.

and no amount of GFY "fundraisers" will save you or little "billy".

you need health insurance period. if you can't afford it, quit being a self-employed porn slinger and go get a real job with employer coverage.

yes, it is that important.

end of today's sermon.

It is so ridiculously sick that a capitalist society chooses to kill those who cannot afford to get insurance. I wonder if humanity survives another thousand years will they look back at this time period and wonder how could we be so stupid as to put a price tag on a human beings head.

Im in the process of switching and comparing multiple companies and plans. I haven't heard good things about Mega via NASE in the past, but maybe things are different now.

How would they have even associated you with being an adult film actress had you not told them?

We have the same. We pay $280 a month for two of us. I just recently used it and got letters saying they are reviewing my claims. Hopefully they will be paid.

Yes, we're in GA but moving back to NY.

We want to become a corporation in NY before getting insurance www.healthyny.org This is an excellent plan but we don't 'qualify' at the moment.

BCBC wanted $1k a month in NY

I am lucky enough to be good friends with a dentist and I just pay him cash. I'm applying for United Health Care right now though, thanks. Will be checking into a few others as well. United looks like it is the same price for me as MEGA, with a name I'm more likely to trust.

BCBS of GA for me. Had them for years. They pay everyone on time, which is one of the biggest problems with the smaller companies. You sign a nifty little piece of paper every time you go to the doctor/hospital/etc. that says if your insurance doesn't pay, you get to - even if the insurance company screwed up. It's nice not to have to worry about that even if I have to pay a little extra for it.
