				 | dont mess with it. You risk bricking it. There have been many performance enhancing features since those old versions. You cant browse the web, and all newer games wont work. All that to play pacman on your PSP? notnx |

				 | I'm not sure it's possible to downgrade from 2.5 to 1.5. The downside is that first, you might fuck your firmware (essentially fucking the PSP). Second, you miss out on all the added features from all the subsequent firmware updates. Such as web browsing, Flash compatibility, better file support, RSS feeds, etc. Third, you won't be able to use many of the planned or rumoured accessories (such as webcam, VoIP, etc). Fourth, you won't be able to play games that require newer firmware.

				 | I believe I saw a PSP game (or two) that had all the old style games on it, why not just pay the $40 and buy that, and save yourself the troubles? |

				 | There's Midway Arcade Treasures and Capcom Arcade Classics. They're the only two PSP games I own. Both of them are compilations of classic arcade games. MAT includes Paperboy, 720, Spy Hunter, Rampage and Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3. CAC includes the original Street Fighter, Final Fight, Block Block and Captain Commando. Next month, Capcom is releasinh CAC Reloaded, which will feature Ghosts and Goblins, Ghouls and Ghosts, Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Street Fighter II, SFII Champion Edition and SFII Turbo Hyperfighting Edition.

				 | Downgrading is sketchy at best andwill most likel result in a fucked up, useless PSP....I wouldn't risk it. Just buy an older PSP (ebay, stores that still have old ones, from a friend, etc....) and use it for the homebrew stuff, and keep your latest one for the newer games/browsing/etc...
