I get my info from my personal experience, which is fairly extensive. Very few women actually suggest condoms (although, to be fair, very few whine if I suggest them). In the absence of condoms, most women will say something along the lines of "It's ok, I'm on the pill".

Most women are desperate for relationships, not desperate to get laid. That's why they get laid a lot, and are then surprised when men don't call them back (since the "chemistry" often actually consisted of several pints of lager).
That's the disgusting part about most "easy" women - not so much that they have a lot of sex, but that they try to use sex as a tool to create an emotional connection, "giving" it away in hopes of getting a relationship back. The kind of woman that gives blowjobs to guys she just met, without even getting any pleasure back from it.

With regards to "denying the chemistry", you don't have to deny it. Personally, though, I find that building up the tension over a longer period is much more exciting, and also saves one from those awkward "Oh my God I can't believe I fucked that last night"-moments. Kissing on the second or third date and sex after one to three months of dating is perfect.

Maybe I'm weird for actually preferring to have sex solely with people whose company I really enjoy, though.
