Hi,

We are thinking about moving our sites to them. I know many big ones host there but I would like to get some user/customer experiences about candid.

We have some nice deal from dynamichosting as well

What would You recommend ?

I imagine hosting with Candid would be a good experience. They're a very large and reputable company. What you'll find when you ask for input on hosting companies is that there are always people that have had positive and negative experiences. Overall though it's always good to go with a reputable provider. Just make sure you do your research, the decision to move hosting is always an important one!

You should go with Candid because the big boys call them home.

Knowing that the big boys call them home, you should rest easy knowing your Websites will be up 100% of the time.

As others have said, definitely do your research. Look at their connectivity, how many pipes do they have, do they own their own NOC, peering, etc. If you have a tech, have him check out the servers they have and see if any have known security holes (Apache/PHP/ssh versions).

I haven't had any experience with them myself, but what I have learned is that the best ones aren't crawling over the boards 24/7 begging you to host with them.

I have currently 3 machines running at candid...in general it´s
quite ok but it´s certainly not the best host on the market. Prices
are good and uptimes are acceptable but they do have their
downtime and if you can´t manage yourself then better go
somewhere else.....in my opinion the support is far from good.

Half of the time you need them they can´t be reached or it takes
ages before anyone really does something. I use the 3 machines
for not very vital parts of my business. I would NOT put my vital
stuff there not in a million years.

But I guess for the price you can´t complain too much. I don´t
say they are bad coz their not....but the fact that they host some
BIG boys doesn´t make them walhalla!

Thanks but I havent noticed ANYTHING bad info abour any company listed there But I understand - advertising and stuff ;)

As far as I'm concerned Candid are the dogs dangly bits and I'd recommend them to anybody. However you DO need to know what you're doing with Unix etc.
