your isp keeps records of who had what IP and at what exact time

they have to, by law

The first person I called after hanging up was my son, and he never heard of Kazaa, even asked me how to spell it so he could look at it. He uses a paid service (limewire I think it is called).

I called my ISP today, they have no notations on my account about any of this.

Conclusion: it is a scam.

Not according to my ISP. They agreed, that would be some pretty extensive record keeping
