Agreed, but I think we'll see it sooner than 3 years. That sector seems to be moving pretty fast...although not nearly as fast as in parts of Asia.

Mobile dating I think can be huge, mobile porn I think will be a complementary product/service along adult sites in my opinion (like a membership to a porn site will get you access to cellular porn as well). As a standalone product, I don't see the demand happening.

Just because technology advances doesn't mean everyone just junks their existing and runs out to buy new cell phone. So there is a lag.

Well speaking from experience Mobile Porn is a money maker.
Textbill specialises in delivery of porn to the phone and billing for it via SMS(where available) and by credit card.

Babymaker makes a good point and currently this is growing in Europe now. The buyers of webcam girls on mobile are global as against just in Europe.

With regard to what Greg has said, yes US Webmasters can bill via SMS but only for clients in Europe. Really the only decent revenues come from the UK and Germany. You can have HT Access time limited so people can pay by phone to try the site and hopefully convert to cc billing with your preferred biller.

The advantages of delivering to the mobile phone is the database creation, every user that you deliver to you can through our system market your services to them with updates, alerts etc... for about $0.10 per user. every one has a porn email address but very few people have a porn mobile so your connection with them as clients is quite solid.

When a client pays by sms to enter your site there are no chargebacks. Again SMS is really only useful for your UK and German clients.

Drawbacks for using SMS as a payment function:
On a £1.50 SMS the payout is £0.80 and on a £5.00 SMS the payout is £3.00, the reason for this is the Carriers take a big chunk and tax is taken out too.
For all the SMS Billing you do in month one will not be paid out from the carriers till the 2nd week of month three. We take about £0.07 on a £1.50 SMS and about £0.12 on a £5.00 SMS

Finally, it will be you guys that drive the mobile porn industry. The people currently in Mobile Porn are not promoting the services on the internet anywhere near as effectively as you guys do. They promote MoBile Internet which is very poor and diificult use. You guys are the experienced ones in driving traffic, promoting niche services and collecting the winnings.

mobile is making a killing as we speak in europe, and will be making a killing here in the US very very soon... you will see some big things in the next 6 months (especially from us)

the size of the screen is not really an issue... it's all about convenience and the power/abillity to get the porn whenever and whereever you want.

I agree with Charles, as a paysite model I don't see mobile consumption taking off - this is not Europe, and North America likes things big - I say put your money into content sites with downloads for TV viewing on your HDTV big screen - and as Charles said, mobile porn will remain an ancillary product in the US/Canada.

There are things people will purchase on their phone, but I don't think it is going to be traditional porn content...

It is a novelty factor, there may be a bit of money, nothing big, people watch porn in the comfort of there own home or hotel, if they are at home they are going to watch it on there 40" lcd. Besides the new laptops are getting smaller and lighter, this is how people will watch porn on the go if they choose to.
