Cisco huh? Not like they would have an agenda for saying things like that. Besides Cisco complaining about somebody else having security issues?

If you have seen 1 windows product you have seen them all. They all crash the same. They are all POS. Go with mac or linux

If you need a super computer to run windows what the heck you need when you try and run photoshop or other resource savy programs

dunefield 09-18-2006 08:50 PM

in the end i'd rather have a better running os than something looking fancy...

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-18-2006 09:42 PM

i don't think i will upgrade my computer once vista hits, will most likely put that money in a savings account to buy my ultimate mac machine

Pete-KT 09-18-2006 10:00 PM

Been using it for a while now i love it

Charlie_RedHotBucks 09-18-2006 10:04 PM

Not really, I loaded up a bunch of stuff last night, including Photoshop and some other programs and I never noticed it slow down at all.
And as I said, you can turn off all of those shadows, transparencies and everything else to increase the performance if you find that your computer can't quite handle it very well.

And for those of you going on and on about linux, do you seriously think that I don't know about linux if I'm trying Vista in beta?? I mean, come on. The whole point is to see how it works, how it performs, what's different.... JUST LIKE when I try with linux.

It's like people who will never try escargot simply because it's snails... they don't know what it tastes like, but they know it's icky... so they simply won't try it because of what it MIGHT be. Personally, I try everything because I won't really know otherwise... whether it be an OS or a snail :glugglug

Klen 09-19-2006 04:36 AM

Vista is nothing special. They just integrate better skin and that's it.I will wait when first service pack will be issued. After all with every new version of windows there is 50000 new security bugs.

I like your style, though I'd have to draw the line at a few things. Such as owning a cat, petting a dolphin (well, ok, I?d pet a female dolphin), playing DDR, trying out a guy?s cock, and last but certainly not least, voting for Hillary Clinton if she ever decided to run for president.

Spankys Teens 09-19-2006 06:47 AM

Any thoughts?

Took me a bit, but I found an interesting article...

CPU: Threading is the main target for Vista. Currently, very little of Windows XP is threaded - the target is to make Vista perform far better on dual-core and multi-core processors.

hostcentrex 09-19-2006 03:26 PM

I hear it is a bear to run. Looks nice however.

CyberHustler 09-19-2006 03:36 PM

RC1, when I made this thread, RC2 wasn't even available yet. And I just never got around to upgrading it after that.

V_RocKs 11-09-2006 06:26 PM

So other then looking different, is there any other reason to upgrade?

I'd like to see 64bit reasons... Like 4+GB of ram truly available... etc..

stev0 11-09-2006 07:33 PM

What does that windows experience index mean in your system stats area? and what is that rated out of?

It's the ranking of your computer specs. How fast your CPU is, your video card, your ram.... all that stuff. And if windows finds that it's high enough, it will enable or disable features/performance accordingly.

nofx 11-09-2006 07:40 PM

Jakke PNG 11-13-2006 05:34 AM

I noticed you got a score of 4.7 on some vista experience shit. Is there a stand-alone test of it available? I don't wanna download vista just to see if it works. :P

Yup, there is.. it's called the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

You can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...r/default.mspx

It'll do the exact same tests on your system and tell you how well Vista will run on your machine.

DjSap 11-13-2006 06:53 AM

looks nice ill probably use it when i get my windows machine next month...
