I've got the same problem man. Was talking to my dad about it last night, he said either take out a loan for something and pay back on time every month (will build credit) or settle for a secured card. Have you tried NextCard? They're the only company I've found so far that would accept me, got a $1K limit with no problem.

One thing I do know about credit, is that if you can use the card a good bit every month, and then pay it off in FULL every month, the card company will be raising your credit limit all the time.
If that sounds hard to do, think of putting things on the card that you have to pay anyways, like pay your electric bill or car payment with the card if you can, then pay it off just like you would have paid the bill. Didn't cost you any extra money, but you are building your credit. |

Including the one you have, why not just get two more cards with a 1k limit than trying to get one for $2500. Also, if you have money in the bank that shows you're worth something then you can easily get a nice limit. Wasn't it you saying you had $80,000 in the bank you were using for an affiliate program? You should have no problem securing $2500. Go through your bank.

Ok guys, I got the building credit down. But in order to build your credit, you need credit! Anyone know some companies that will give me a credit card without pre-existing credit? I need a couple more cards to start building up...

It's tough to ge a good credit history. Actually, even 7 years of credit history is considered "too little".
I shit you not. 30 years is what companies like to go off of to check your credit history. I would suggest a householdbank.com mastercard. Hey, it's not visa, but i got a huge credit limit on mine compaired to my other visa cards. Also, one credit tip, besides making payments on time, is to make sure to keep the balance on your cards @ 49% of your maximum or less. They jumps up your FICO points quite a bit. As I recall, 700 fico points is considered "good credit". Good luck! |

I can't believe I didn't think of Providian. They call my house daily tying to get money from one of my old roommates. I heard their good for rebuilding credit, so I would assume that they're fine for building credit as well.
