BTW in my mind anyone that clicks this thread must also secretly miss it too, or why did you bother.

yeah it was fun. I used to go to verdun allot they always really got into it.
Being an uptown & downtown kid, going to verdun where they all did up the lawns & the whole nine was awsome. I was taking my cousins the last few years just as an excuse to still go etc.. lol

I miss it too? hell up until a few years ago, I put on a haunted house every year for the neighborhood, turned out pretty decent each time. Next year or the year after I?m going to start up again with some animatronics I think. A few years back I made this huge fairly convincing graveyard all over the yard (killed most the grass lmao), it was pretty damn awesome. Most the kids were too afraid to come up to my house, they would just stand at the street and cry. The ones that do enter hardly ever return the next year? in the graveyard I have this really spooky tree that I hooked up with speakers and a small gear system, I had huge branch-like arms setup on it that would raise periodically and the tree would scream out various phrases like ?I am the tree of death, welcome to your fate?. That was a blast hahaha?

I?ve gotten lazy in recent years, I don?t hardly do anything for Halloween anymore except throw dry ice pellets at kids. I may do something this year if I feel like it but I probably will wait until I get some animatronics stuff to fuck around with. I have this idea to do a ?swampy? filled area inside the haunted house (fog machines make it easy), want to get an animatronic croc or gator to complete the idea. Bleh, I'll probably end up never doing halloween again period even if I get the animatronic shit, I'm a lazy son of a bitch.

Good idea! I'm sure your friend's kids would be willing to go out trick or treating with you. Or you could just tag along with some friends and their kids. That way it doesn't look like you're really out there wanting candy for yourself...but, you still reap the benefits.

I plan on dressing up and taking my stepson out trick or treating.

I live 3 blocks away from Anoka, MN which claims it's been the halloween capital of the world since 1920.

I've always wondered if we celebrate halloween differently than others in the nation.

I know 18 years ago when I use to go, it was a huge holiday tons and tons of people out on the streets, today I don't do it, but when I go out on halloween I see very few people on the streets.

K step 1, get some friends.
Step two ask them if they have kids.

Shit step two seems akward.

The news and some groups have ruined it with mythical bullshit to scare people.

Halloween in my neighborhood sucks these days. When I used to trick or treat, there were tons of kids out, haunted houses, everybody gave out lots of good candy, great times. I'd come home after hours of trick or treating with pillow cases full of candy. Now, there's about ten kids out and everybody turns out their lights and they don't answer the door.
