I curently use Cute HTML one of there first versions they put out back in the 90's was awesome was fast used hardly any cpu to edit 100 files at once but the newer version sucks even there new ftp pro sucks in comparison to there older versions unfortunatly when I download the oldest versions from there website I am still getting a version that is not 1/5th what there first version was long story short

I need a new html editor program ;) which ones are the absolute best

The best I have found are Dreamweaver 8 and TextPad.....I use both constantly, although once in a while still use Cute HTML as well.

I use a bit of everything depending how much time I DON'T have.

More often than not though my tool of choice is UltraEdit. Most of what I deal with is php files and code, so I often don't need a full visual editor.

When I do need a visual editor, I go with DreamweaverMX. If I'm doing complex table layouts I use the latest version of FrontPage, but that's just for quick visual prototyping and then I trim the hell of all the extra garbage out before I take things final.

Yep, I second the use of this one. Absolute best I've found. If someone says anything is better than this, they haven't used it.

Exactly the same TD - Basically a combination of a standard text editor with a preference of UltraEdit followed by NoteTab Pro and Dreamweaver for layout possibilities.

BTW.. If you have the time - NoteTab Pro is programmable and capable of doing a hell of a lot of automatic stuff - including generating fairly complete website shells of whatever pages.

Dreamweaver for most work involving client scripting etc.

Zend Development Platform for all PHP. It rocks beyond beleif.

FireBug for debugging AJAX.

Being a designer, I would need to say Dreamweaver. Has alot of predefined features and of course you can do the split screen. It generally doesn't add alot of bogus code - a la frontpage styles.

I used to pretend like I was hard hitting and use notepad the entire time, but eventually, I realised that I could actually work faster using other tools.

It's important to know all the code that you're typing, but seriously, word completion, code indenting and syntax hilighting save a lot of time.

WinSynatax - it does HTML, CSS, PHP and if you can be arsed to make the extensions any other language you like.

Only one problem - the company that makes it have disappeared, so you'll have to scour some mirrors for a copy.
