yes you need a system that only you can decifer without using the same passwords for every site. so what you can do is create a system of rules. for example gfy.com you can take the backwords spelling + another identifier like your key code eg. 2257
so yfg2257 = your gfy.com pass when you go to adult.com your pass will be = tluda2257 this is just an example but you can create other rules that would be near impossible to decifer but easy for you to remember no matter what the site as long as you remeber the rule |

I just use an Excel chart. That way I can add notes and categories for various sponsors I might want to remember later, along with links to their affiliate areas and all that good stuff. As far as passwords go, I tend to like kinda random character sets just fine.

i just keep a binder with all passwords, usernames, domains...any info i think is important to my business incase i can't remember or something happens to me or my computer. most of my passwords are just random letters and numbers to prevent being run against dictionary lists but after typing them in over and over they are engrained and not easily forgotten.

You could try a program called KeePass Password Safe. It's 100% free and very secure. All you have to do is make sure to remember one password; everything else can be stored inside a database file (make sure to back it up!), and easily accessible. It can auto-generate passwords for you as well if you aren?t feeling terribly creative.

I run a few sites where members signup and for a while I let them choose their own passwords, it's silly to see some surfers use God, sex, porn, password, mum, money and some other silly stuff as their password.

the problem with password programs is they can be cracked or corrupted, then you lose everything and rendered helpless. if you write on paper then thats not secure and with everything you have to physically carry it with you.
you are at the mercy of your notepad or program. if you keep it in your brain its more reliable than all those things combined. the brain is a very powerful tool if utalized correctly. if you train it properly it will destroy any encryption program out there. you always carry your brain with you and its very difficult to hack. |

I resisted RoboForm for so long that I thought my eyes would bleed. Then, I broke down and tried it. Ended up buying two licenses, just so I have it on my laptop and my main desktop. Handy how it ties in with everything - also annoying at times. ;)

I forget my password all the time, have like 10 core passwords, and 6 core user so it takes a while to finally figure it out, and it is all kinds of frustrating
