how much do you think the average surfer trusts us?

Simple enough question, so give me your opinions.

We recently opened the site so surfers can browse through the index pages and see the videos and sets. At first it made little difference, then with some fine tweaking after some great advice ratios began to improve. Now they are 20% better.

The surfer gets to see what we have to offer him, no 3 page tour that leaves him thinking "What am I buying" He sees everything.

So how much do you think the average surfer trusts us as a group?

with skimming shit still going around, popup hell, undisclosed cross-sells (if still exist?), spam, over-promising tours, I don't think much trust is happening in general as a group or industry.

Transparent business models do tend to gain more trust. As with your example of browsable content index.

Totally, because the american people trust Bush, and if they trust him, then they'll trust anybody.

I think that most surfers don't trust a porn site when they visit it for the first time. It's about getting the surfer to trust you and show him that there is nothing to fear about.

But as said earlier, with so many pop-ups, skimming, redirecting and so on still going on, it's hard to get a surfer to trust a porn site.

If affiliates were more concerned about surfers trusting us, the majority of the biggest sponsors would be out of business.

I commented somewhere else today that things are finally getting better. For most of the past 10 years I have been lucky to find 15-20 sites at any one time to which I know for sure I can send surfers and they won't start sticking pins in voodoo dolls of me after they have parted with their money. But over the past 18 months that total has more than doubled, a lot of the increase just this year.

I hope that these new sites get into gear fast enough or are well enough financed that they stay in business. Then I think we shall see more following suit.

Good point, but how many of them have the brains, money and computer to surf the Net?

Yes I see the logic in a lot of people coming back to a site a few times before they sign up.

I think that after signing up for a porn site 99% of them check their CC statenemts every 7 minutes or so

"US" as a whole? = 0.00

Some of "us" as individual webby's = depends on their experience with our sites.
