Joomla vs. Mambo. Any thoughts on which is easier or better to use.

they are essentially the same thing, although joomla is more actively developed

i have never used joomla on any se projects so I have no first hand experience, but I keep hearing people say what you said and would love to know the reasoning behind it

joomla's URLs are not SEO friendly (no keywords on them)

well, you can do seo without having keywords in the url, I have had some non-keyword urls do far better than keyworded ones, and vice versa

Joomla does have a setting built in for SEO friendly URL's, it works in conjunction with mod rewrite...
no..it does not for the most part allow for the use of keywords in the URL's such as:
http://www.site.com/your-product-name.html

In Joomla you will have:
sections/content/items with URL's like:
http://www.site.com/content/view/3/2/
and components have URLs like:
http://www.site.com/component/option...act/Itemid,16/

SE's read those URL's just fine, the thing to remember is that its more about the content on your page than the URL or the keywords in them..do keywords in the URL help your SEO..yes to some extent, in some cases..but the SE's factor in way more than just keywords in the URL in determining rankings

The content on the page (text) is way more important than just keywords in the URL...

that also means: there is no use on using the SEO version of Joomla...as the content of the page will be exactly the same with or without SEO friendly URLs....
