My 10 year old has a cell phone. It's a firefly that I program the numbers into as far as who can call in or be called. It's very convenient when he needs to let me know he's done with an after school practice. It also helps with his fears of what happens if there is a terrorist attack while he is at school.

He also has his own laptop, with the usage highly monitored by me. It's not like I'm going to let him use my computer. Even with monitored use. There is stuff on here he just doesn't need to see.

This is EXACTLY why my kids have their own computers. no way in hell are they even allowed anywhere near mine. That's about the dumbest thing anyone in the adult industry can do is let their kids use the computer you work with to be on. :thumbsup

Today he told me that his teacher says he's reading at the third grade level (he's in 1st grade). His mommy just called 5 minutes ago to tell me she knew I'd be proud to hear that he loves doing his homework. He comes home wanting to do it and works really hard at it. Makes my chest swell!

ummm thats not strange at all. when i was 6 i had my own computer and net access. there is a program that u can install that regulates what sites are visited and sends a report back if they are attempted.
