dont know about fleshlights but most sex toys are made in third world countries where cleanliness isn't a focus. These are toys people are sticking into their bodies.

Dunno about third world countries tony - most are manufactured in China.

The plastic injection moulding stuff is fine - just wash the thing.

The problem is with plastic softening agents. Can't lay claim to even having seen a fleshlight, but if it's a device with soft plastic inside (the "real feel" shit) - may be worth being wary. We can't have Smokey losing his prize possession, can we?

The EU banned phthalates a few years ago - but only where the finished product could be harmful to a consumer - dunno what laws may apply in the US. Whoever the US distributor is should get an answer - tho hell

im thinking they wont ban it in sex toys because technically they arent supposed to be used internally they are supposed to be "novelties" still curious though
