My next question would be: Why can't I just go to Home Depot, buy a 4 lamp bank, and put Kino Flo lamps in it? Is it the wattage?

Ok, I figured out the second question. Anyone know of any cheaper set ups, or do I need to just spend the $1k per unit?

Thanks, I'll look for those other lights too, they're not in my B&H catalog. Edit: Yes they are, nevermind, $250 cheaper. |

B & H is great if you want a good price, minus the taxes, but a good way to know what you are buying in advance is to go to the huge Samy's cameras in L.A. (not too far from where you are).

You can see a side-by-side comparison of products, including Kino-Flo. Besides what is on their showroom floor, you may be able to arrange to have them set up lighting combinations for you to check out (they did this for me). They have a great staff. Also, they WILL negotiate on pricing. They have matched B & H pricing for me. Be sure to ask about any sales coming up too. ADG Webmaster |
