By GFY standards, it was in pretty good taste.

You do realise most of the work he did with croc's was catch and release kind of stuff. In that he would get called about crocodiles that were in dangerous/urban, etc areas, he would go in, catch them, move them to a safe area and release them. That's basically how he got his start (although he did grow up on reptile park), by volunteering for a project in Queensland in the 80's for years to remove crocodiles from high risk area to safer ones, before the camera's came along. Honestly, to me I don't get too worked up over celeb deaths, but I can't really say anything too bad about the guy, he seemed genuinely nice, those that hack at him simply have a case of tall poppy syndrome.

Bottom line, we've all got different sets of values. To each his own. The only thing that makes someone look foolish is not recognizing this simple fact and then judging someone just because they have different values than you.

You want to see are really good one, check out www.craigmaxim.com. He was so against what we do that he tried to lead a very sad myspace crusade against us. I'm sure everyone here remembers the cat burning vids on CJ. We link all those over to animal rights organizations and have generated hundreds and hundreds of thousands of clicks over to their donation pages. So this Craig guy decided to glory hound it and post all over myspace a link to download the VID from our servers, NOT to the page where we had the vid and the links to the donation pages. Context makes a big difference. Fooker not only posted the link, he posted my phone number encouraging people to call me. What he didn't realize is I thrive off that shit. All 10 people that actually called hung up understanding exactly what we were doing, thanking us for it, and promising to tell this guy to fuck off. Figured that was enough fun but he wouldn't let up. So just for pure juvenile payback, I noticed on his myspace page that he listed a link to the site for his God-Rock band as www.craigmaxim.com. Stupid fooker hadn't registered it. Bad idea.

I'm not pretending to have known the guy but I live only a short drive from Australia Zoo and went up there the day after - holy crap there were a lot of people! If you feel you are that close to him - go fucking visit the zoo yourself and pay your respects instead of bashing me for posting a funny pic.
