01/01/04 - Quit cold turkey 15mg - First Attempt.
05/18/04 - Went back on to 15 mg - I think I could have hung in there if I was aware of this forum.
07/28/2005 - Quit Paxil 15 mg - Second Attempt
11/06/2005 -- On 10 mg to stabilize and will try again
11/30/2005 -- Back to 15mg again.
12/18/05 -- 7.5 mg
12/31/05 -- 0
1/05/06 -- back on 15 mg

Prozac 20mg. 1988-1995. Quit cold turkey.
Paxil 20mg 1995 for anxiety pain after quitting Prozac.
Withdrawal 1996 2 weeks forced after move/no refill.
LUCID NIGHTMARES experienced.
Withdrawal 1999 failed. Forced raise to 30mg.
Withdrawal 2002 duration 10 months (including switch methods) failed.
Resumed to 20mg 2003.
Forced to 30mg 2004 after 1 BAD REFILL caused w/d.
They can't even measure it right!
Withdrawal 2006, one mg down at a time when I can. Career on hold for three years.

2002 - 2003: Prozac + Buspar (to deal with the Zoloft withdrawal)
I was off all drugs for a year going through withdrawal with no letup in symptoms, so in 2004 I (regrettably) went back on Zoloft to try a slower taper.
11/19/05 - Finally off again.

I think part of it is idiot doctors. They over prescribe stuff like this all too often.

When I moved to Chicago, I had some trouble sleeping and some minor anxiety. I mentioned it during my physical and figured he'd give me some mild sleeping pill or something. Instead he somehow diagnosed me with having depression and put me on some pretty serious stuff. It made me paranoid and killed my drive and creativity. So I went back and he upped the dose and put me on a very strong sleeping pill too. Before I knew it, I was just a totally different person. It sucked coming off, but I realized that I was ten times better with nothing in my system.

All I needed was some exercise and maybe some melatonin, this doc had me pegged as someone mentally disturbed.

ever been around someone on zoloft and drinking heavily? it isn't pretty....I have seen some normal people go very psycho when the alcohol starts flowing, and when they drank previously they were just normal drunks

My inferrance was that it was not the Zoloft, but the mixture of Zoloft, cocaine, and booze that helped her become a bit more unstable than she was before.

I mean, Oxygen by itself will make you go blind; Hydrogen will make you suffocate. Mix the fuckers together, and you might drown!
