Just buy cheap locks. Not that it really maters anyways though. Most of them locks are easily opened by a 4 year old with a butterknife.

No, the homeland security whatever will just break your lock.

There is a universal keyed lock that Samsonite was going to be putting out that would allow easy access for inspection.

There are special locks you can buy that they can open. Otherwise I've heard of stories where they cut through the fabric of the suitcase with box cutters if they can't bust your lock. Fucked up.

If they want to look, they'll just break the lock or ruin your luggage. Not worth it.

i'd recommend locking your baggage. Too many horror stories about people getting things stolen or crap planted in their bags.

Alot of airports nowadays have those massive plastic wrap machines - better than any lock

Seems like you're getting mixed responses here, too. I wouldn't lock it - just asking for trouble.

I Stopped at France few weeks back and they told me it's ok to lock it, since they know how to open them. But once you past custom, they may make you open some of them.

When boarding from the US, and checking in your locked suit case they will ask you to unlock it

I've had my luggage basically destroyed twice because of locking my shit. Was inspected (lock was destroyed, put inside my luggage with a little note saying it has been inspected), they fucked up half my shit in the luggage (got toothpaste all over my clothes one time, fucking bastards), destroyed a camera, etc. They are ruthless trying to find those terrorist midgets hiding inside luggage man.
