Rant time: Solo Sites!

It has been a bit since I went off on anything. Hell I have not even started many threads in last two months.

So lets get it started.

Solo sites, amateur sites, single girl sites, or whatever other name tickles your fancy. As we all know they are as old as online porn itself though many see them as a fad of the last year. Sure lots have popped up in the last year or so, but alas again it is not anything new.

They come and go like the passing wind. A select few will make any difference and the parties involved any real amounts of cash. That is one of the main reasons I think so many crash and burn. Though I do not blame the site model, but the people often making the decisions initially the second the site begins to take form.

So often I personally can just feel the failure of a site the second I see it. Rarely is it the models ability to pose, nor the photographers skill, or the designers ability to put to screen what the owner wants.

Many of these sites are almost cookie cutters of the past, with just the phrases on the tour changed. People place to strong of an emphasis on a models look and if she is hot enough. In reality I really do not think it maters much at all though. What I feel needs to happen is to allow a persona and fantasy to shine through, and they stick to it with complete conviction. Yet do not venture into a persona you do not understand, the core audience will see right through it.

Every model has an online persona that can be developed, and one must be sure that the model can pull it off and be comfortable with it. Sites should exude personality, persona, and fantasy it portrays. They need to be more than a collection of photos and videos. It needs more than the basics and it needs to look like it was not thrown together in a week. Listen to your audience and those that love it and less on the majority of webmasters who would never really promote it anyways. Stick to your long term goals and ideas for your site and in the end it will pay off.

Of course I am just another webmaster and what I have to say means jack shit. This is just another one of my rants anyways.

Typically I do not expect many to read them since they are usually longer than the average Dr. Seuss book and thus beyond the attention span of many.

Conveying the personality of the model is one of the most overlooked parts of the genre. A site that does a GREAT job with showing personality is Bailey's Room.

Retention with solo girl sites is based on a member falling in love with the girl, which is overwhelmingly not based upon looks.

Falling in love, becoming obsessed, whatever you choose to call it. If she or he caters to that given groups fantasies, expectations, and desires. Then looks, age, gender, or skill matters.
