when I had all 4 of mine removed while in the Navy, the oral surgen said.. "do you want a running count as I go", I shook my head yes and he said... "four". He had already took 3 out... I didn't feel a thing. Ask for something other than demerol.. that gave me nightmares. It didn't hurt too bad afterwards, but I got hungry and you can't chew or you will pack food into the wholes and cause an infection.

The only crappy part is if you get over zealous with chewing hard food and you happen to bite down on your gums in the back, that hurts, but you learn quick :)

Man, I was awake for my whole process. Two of them were horizontal and anesthesia ran out in the middle of it so they had to reinject me during the surgery. Not fun!!!!!!!!!!

It's not that big of a deal just stock up on Tylenol 3 and maybe some Ibuprofen as well if you have lots of swelling.

Ive never had any teeth pulled out, im kind of avoiding the dentist lol.. My friend had 8 teeth pulled out in one day not to long ago.. she was scared shitless

For me it was more the pressure than the pain that annoyed me. However, the pain I had before hand really made it worth getting them out. Just look after the sockets afterwards.

Everybody's had real good advice and I would definitely stock up on stuff like pudding and jello and other soft things like that. Also, get some of that instant mashed potato mix because those are what I ate a lot because they're soft, easy to make and pretty filling too. Another thing is definitely don't take any of the pain killers they give you on an empty stomach because it will make you throw up. Trust me I did that my first night and it wasn't fun. Other than that just kind of ease into the more solid foods after a few days and it will probably hurt the first few times something hits back there but it will get better.

The funny thing is that I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled and I was expecting a lot of pain, but hell, it was painless getting them out and even after the numbing wore off, I still never felt an ounce of pain. I guess I was a fortunate one, ha ha.

a necessary evil! no fun for about 3 days. only advice...follow your dentists' directions re: meds, ice, etc... it'll make like easier. good luck hon.
