The IV they feed ya with is prolly healthier for you. Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't cheaper. Even with health insurance, the bills are unreal. I'd look at them, but have to consider my heart...:1orglaugh :1orglaugh Just open them one at a time as money is available. Try to prioritize them.

In the states many don't pay, maybe that's why the bills are so high. Some greed in there too. My insurance is up at about a grand a month. I don't know what the solution is. Makes it hard to get ahead with all that you have to deal with. Glad to be alive so on one hand it is hard to complain.

Linkster 09-07-2006 04:27 AM

I totally agree its a shame that the prices are based on the health insurance - just think what would happen if we didnt have health insurance at all - the prices would drop back to reaonable levels and everyone could afford the costs - of course, some doctors would lose out as they base their whole biz on traffic and standard charges to medicare/aid

Ah well - Ill take that advice on opening the bills one at a time :thumbsup

Now every one go buy domains :)
Here's the threads:
Nice Short Domains

Gay Domains

BloggerPorn.com - with PR4 and SE Links

and Thanks to all that have bought already :)

Mickey_ 09-07-2006 05:25 AM

Good luck and get well soon

CDSmith 09-07-2006 02:34 PM

Linkster, sorry to hear about this and your situation with health insurance. That's crazy. A guy like you would sure benefit being in Canada under our system, sounds like you are one of the few that do fall through the cracks in the US.

Is there anything I can do to help? If you have a list of galleries I can post to send some traffic to your sites or sponsors I'll gladly post em for a few weeks, a month etc. Might net you some helping out money.

Let me know. 31024634.

Linkster 09-07-2006 03:35 PM

CD I appreciate it - this domain sale seems to be dooing the trick so Im going to keep at it - I still have the reg income coming in from the sites (other than Googles tyical August fun) so I'll be allright there - just needed the extra as just hadnt planned on the bills :) - still chepaer than I would have to pay for insurance - and I agree - so many other countries have plans that really do take care of their citizens a heck of a lot better than the medical plans here

Awesome.

I hope you're feeling better soon then man. I'm sure you'll be noticing a difference in how you feel soon if not already.

Cheers. :thumbsup

tony286 09-07-2006 03:45 PM

Hope you feel better dont sweat the bills now .Tell them you can give them $100 a month and if they dont like it tough. Also what your paying is not what the insurance companies pay for that service. I went to a eye doctor to get a examine I was charged $150 ,my father said if you were paying cash negotiate with them. I say why ,he said because the insurance company would of paid him $35 for that service. My Dad works for one of the largest HMO's.

Hospital sushi is very expensive and highly suspect.

goodgirl and I send you best wishes for a speedy recovery.

FYI: No sure where you live Linkster, but a lot of states have what they call a
"Health Insurance Risk Pool" You can get health insurance from the state when you've been denied and can't get coverage elsewhere due to health reasons.

Yeah and the cost of those policies can exceed the earnings of many a webmaster.

There are plenty of doctors that want money upfront or at time of service. Not ashamed to admit that I've felt the squeeze at times. Remember your life is on the line....

:thumbsup to Linkster for selling domain names rather than asking for a handout. Good that you had them to sell.

There was a time on GFY, maybe it is still here when others look down on ya for not being mega rich form the biz.

Linkster 09-07-2006 07:42 PM

tony - definitely going to do the negotiating route - fortunately I have a friend that runs the billing dept at the hospital and she has helped in the past with that route

baddog - :) and give a big hug to goodgirl for me :thumbsup

over38 - yeah - I went that route a few years back and they wanted more than the regular ins co's - its a big racket

pussyluver - in 52 years I dont think I ever asked for a handout - and I agree that although I really do have a good income from the biz (but ya kinda get used to things and set your bills at that rate) - there are some that think it grows on trees in this biz - my experience since I began with BBS's back in the 80s was you either worked your ass off and made a good living - or you got lucky and made a huge killing(and most of those put it up their nose) - or you talked about working and convinced everyone you were a pimp - and lived off everyone else - I chose the hard work ave. :)

And to add to the fun - I just put a new post up for a bunch of blog domains - http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=653225
where Ive put up about 65 domains including some good adult and mainstream niches :)

Magalie 09-08-2006 06:31 AM

Linkster, honey, I was away for the past 2 weeks and didn't know this happened.

I truly wish you get well very soon...seems like you're doing good already !

Sending you lots of love ! Take good care of you :kisskiss

CDSmith 03-21-2007 09:19 AM

How're you feeling these days?

Bugbee 03-21-2007 09:28 AM

Great to hear you are feeling better. Take good care of yourself and it sounds like you are. Health insurance is the one of the most important single things to make sure that you have. It is a huge benefit of working with a good company that provides it but even self employeed you have GOT to do it. Take it from someone that knows first hand.

This has been a public service announcement ... now back to well wishes for Linkster

Linkster 03-21-2007 09:39 AM

CD - actually have been feeling a lot better - Im working out every day now trying to get back to my fighting level :)

Bugbee - Im actually trying that path with the local chamber of commerce - see where it leads - but hopefully I wont need it again :thumbsup

tASSy 03-21-2007 09:47 AM

i hope you're feeing a lot better now! good luck on your bids. :thumbsup

Also, how was the operation? I think I need it done too. Pain? Comfort? etc...

How long is the recovery period?

Mobility after?

And finally, did you get stints put in? If so, and your heart stopped, would chest compressions via CPR damage them?

No, the stints wont move ( NORMALLY ) if CPR is given. They are in place, and imbed themselves in the artery walls. And with the material they are made of, they will not normally break either. They will slice the shit out of any clots.

I almost had to have one put in me, thats how I know.

pornguy 03-21-2007 09:53 AM

Linkster. You dont have any domains that I want or need. but if there is anyway I can help, pleas feel free to ICQ me.

Gentle_Ben 03-21-2007 11:08 AM

feel better soon!

Deej 03-21-2007 11:16 AM

600 fuckin dollars for jello and grits?!?!?!?

What in the FUCK?!

woj 03-21-2007 11:25 AM

get well soon dude :thumbsup

Linkster 03-22-2007 07:57 AM

thanks guys :thumbsup

pornguy - actually you can still get clots in the stents - they medicate them to try to cut it down but you definitely still have to take the blood thinners - its a real bitch if you happen to cut yourself accidently trying to get the bleeding to stop

tranza 03-22-2007 08:06 AM

Who bumped this??

TG Rebecca 03-22-2007 09:06 AM

JenniDahling 03-22-2007 09:12 AM

Mark! I am glad you are feeling better! You know I worry. Icq me when you get a moment.
