If bandwidth wasnt an issue, and you were launching a new paysite/dvd site, and it didn't matter how much bandwidth you wasted - what would you do to get exposure/branding as well as your first signups?

offer full content for free but limit it to say 10 downloads per month per ip and make the quality inferior. If they want to download more, they have to pay a monthly fee. But you would need tons of free content to entice them.

Since when is bandwidth an issue? Bandwidth is dirt cheap these days... hell, water is more expensive. If you cant pull in enough to cover a hosting bill, chances are the site isnt worth hosting.

im not talking about a piddly 2000gb transfer, i am talking 100megabits+ and even then it is atleast $1000/month
The point was not what the cost of the bandwidth was, the point is if bandwidth was no issue, what would you do? (IE: hundreds of megabits available) |
