That's more the audio person's fault because they should have turned the mic down at the audio board. I know she should have turned it off when she went in the bathroom but a lot of times the talent will just leave their mics on so they don't have to worry about forgetting to turn them back on before they're live on the air.

I don't know but for me dealing from 5 years of news experience I would rather have the talent leave the mics on then have them turn them off only to forget and then fumble with it trying to turn it back on when they're live on the air. I saw that so many times it's not even funny.

I remember one time we had all the anchors taping a promo and somehow it went live by misatke and they were all basically bitching each other out on the air. That was one of the bigger fuck ups I saw happen and it was definitely pretty funny especially when viewers wrote in emails taking sides in the argument.
