Part of America has passed.  One of the greatest jazz trumpeters that ever lived. Every time I hear his version of MacArthur Park it will bring a tear to the eye.Nobody came close to the sounds of Maynard and no one ever will! RIP |

One of my favorites, been to several live concerts. A big man to make it to 78 though! Played till the end.... Even though he was past his prime.
They called him the boss! A few years back, his concerts ROCKED. He took the time to pass his style along to younger players. Looking forward to the tribute concert. |
