Two Californians Indicted For Spamming

SAN DIEGO - A federal grand jury has indicted two California men for sending spam emails.

The three-count indictment charges Joshua Edward Eveloff and Michael Steven Twombly with conspiracy and fraud in connection with the generation of commercial electronic mail messages.

i could send out 2500 a day on my webserver with a cheesy php script. Either the numbers are wrong, or these guys aren't "big time" at all.

Of course the big timers have enough money to defend themselves... less of a target I guess.

Mmm... So the deal is up to 3 years in jail and between $250-500K in fines.

So.. 3 years at the taxpayers cost and clogging up California jails a bit more - and fines, chances are will never be collected in full? What happens when fines are not paid - more jail?
