what's up, my friends? if there's anyone interested in getting top notch hosting, feel free to hit me up on icq! there are more awesome prizes in pure green $$$!!!
Tell me what you need, and Ill do you a better price.
Not personally for me - i meant in a more general sense. I had a look at the SpltInfinity virtual accounts section, and for the bandwidth and space you are offering, your prices just don't seem all that competitive. Yes, i'm aware that with you i'd probably get better support than 80% of other hosts with cheaper deals, but unfortunately price is a big motivator.

We are going to be redoing the pricing plans very soon. You will always get a better deal if you come directly to Me, or one of the other split contacts. Never hesitate to talk to us, and we will do whatever we can to make a plan fit your needs.

thanks to all of you bumping this thread!
I can concur. I opened a call recently for a fast dbase server and split came through. On quality and price. Fast servers are two a penny nowadays, but we came to a custom job to suit my needs and at the best price on the market
Now as for quality - my main #1 priority was support and quality bandwidth. Both equally important. I had some qualms about net performance of my server, and I had a good 3 hour session with SplitNinja on AIM tuning and tweaking the server right down to the TCP/IP stack. I'm no idiot when it comes to how shit works, but I learnt a lot in that session and we pinpointed the problem to how FreeBSD implemetns the TCP/IP stack. After further tweaking, everything is top notch. And the bwidth is quality.
Now, who else is going to spend 3 hours arsing around with a customer to peak out a few extra KB/s bandwitdh from their server? And I even chose to manage the server myself. A1 support.
And they gave me a visa gift card preloaded with $1000 to buy my wife a nice pressy for her 40th.
'Nuff said.

Never said I never did
Though when you said Split would get me the best deal, I did think to myself yeah yeah. Because, truth be told, they all say that.
But only one delivered on their word.
Was seriously impressed with the tcp stack tweaks though. Even learned enough in the process to figure out how to tweak Apache's tcp/ip handling on FreeBSD and now the server is as slick as the Linux test beds.
Not sure if a lot of people at split use FreeBSD, but if so, I'll right a resume of the tweaks on your forums to help the others. They really increase throughput.
