It may be there is some deal for a group of developers to get together and dump some money on Amnet to get their infrastructure operational. This is one of loads of issues that have been raised on stuff we are doing - there is no point of dumping loads of money into an area unless what can be described as "modern comms" are there. Only had a provisional look with the help of the tech dir at one of the casino opps - would appear it may be practical to implement satellite comms facilities if Anmet don't perform. BTW.. Joke!! :winkwink: There's a casino operation here with masses of comms gear on the roof of their office block - cost em about $3mill in total. Was running thu how it all worked blah.. Basically it's used for the actual transaction side of net gaming where there needs to be 100% uptime and not screw up transactions in the middle of processing etc. Anyways... asked where the actual satellite signals were being delivered to. The US *cough* *splutter* Turns out they are acutally being transmitted to some Indian reservation in the US - neato! :winkwink: |

You are prob familiar with the concept that no developer (or anyone) can actually own a beach? The easy workaround on that is buy all land along the coastline and only have access roads thru that land to the beach - in effect, ya own the beach and anyone acrossing your land is tresspassing. :( There is one hell of a lot of crass greed in the land-grabbing operations here. I keep reading these press releases issued as a face by a few developers - ie.. how we are involved in an ecological project with the interests of the community being paramount :winkwink: All bollocks - they left a space of 2 hectares between 400 condos and this is the ecological aspect :1orglaugh We got some projects going - but sure as hell are not condo complexes, nor will they involve screwing up the local wildlife. Sure, it costs money not to max the hell out of land, - but the flip side there is an appeal in that alone - the "richness" is in the land itself. Plus, there is plenty help and funding from international orgs to maintain that percentage balance of eco. Got to smile at the "blatant developer" - the "cut and plot" specialists who buy a few fields, cut and plot and market all plots and pocket $30mill - the profits are good, but they just delivered a very boring dried out plot in Guanacaste to a buyer who will have a view of other dried out plots all around him :1orglaugh |

Btw- I think it may be because the people in that area refuse to take their clothes off, which usually hampers the possibility for good sex. This is just a theory I have, though.

Dunno why... but every time I end up in or going thru Quepos, the things that hit you in the face are: (a) Where do all these gringos come from and why do they feel there is a need to hug together in a flock and use the same restaurants - even tho they are full and nada tables free?? (b) Suppose this question is already obvious from (a) - why are there so many hookers in Quepos?? The place has an instant clientelle :winkwink: |

I would plan a one month vacation first .... as a precursor to a complete move. When you are there .... you should try to live like you 'live' there , not as if you were on vacation .... although two exceptions would be a visit to The Cariari Country Club and Casino, as well as, KEY LARGO ... an infamous night spot ... go there after your wife leaves you for fulfilling your fantasies by moving to CR....
