theyre a lot more work with all of the recip maintence and no software to manage it all, so I wondered if theyre worth all the work

I had some software created to manage the recips. It will save you time. But from my experience, no, galleries are much more profitable if you can get listed. Free sites are much easier to get listed.

Basically I upload a free site to a directory with recip identifier tags. I type the location of the free site into my script along with a few keywords. The script copies the free site, replaces the identifier tags, and creates a new directory based free site as many times as needed to fulfill the database. The naming of the directories is based on the keywords I input.

Sure there is a software to manage all the LL recips and fill out LL forms. Check my sig and look for Free Site Wizard

I forgot to mention, my script also supports multiple niches and a weighting system. So for example, you can set Green Guys and Hoes to a scale of 10 and it would group them together.

What did you hate about it? It manage multiple recips per LL, duplicate pages with the right recips and fill out the LL forms with the right recip URL, and more.

I used to use Advanced Submitter to submit my free sites, and I never had any problems. Great software!

In my opinion you can't say one or the other makes more money.
Link lists / free sites have better filtered traffic but tgps send out a lot more traffic. It depends if you know what you're doing or not. With free sites you should be good at seo because that's the traffic that will make the most signups but you can get as good se traffic results with galleries too.
I had galleries that converted 1:3000 visitors (not clicks) and galleries that did 1:70000.

Galleries will make you more money in a short time but in the long run you can have more success with free sites if done right.

free sites MIGHT make more in the long run

btw 100% free software to make and submit your free sites - Adam submitter, get the LL submitter for free sites. It can manage your category recips, niches, build the sites (using your template), you name it...

That's what I use and it works 100%, not sure how up to date their DB is though coz I have my own, cleaned the dead LLs, added some etc

Exactly. I slap together a quick gallery with the creatives I used for the freesite and then load it in an autosubmitter. Takes an extra 15 mins max to make to gallery and puts a few more dollars in my pocket.

A combo of both is the best plan for maximizing your income. As far as picking one, I'd have to go with galleries...But only because I've been in that game since 99. I wouldn't want to start now.
