a million second long exposure? That's a friggin long time.

How did they avoid getting streaks of light and blur and all that stuff?

Basic_man 08-18-2006 04:39 AM

That would do a nice background for me :)

They did it over 11 nights .. and ofcourse Hubble is moving along while taking the picture

Try and look at any star in a small telescope and you'll see how fast they move away from your view .. it's a matter of seconds

HpicAnn 08-18-2006 07:21 AM

Definitely an amazing pic..

It's mind numbing to imagine the trillions and trillions (don't get literal on me here) of planets out there and how many of them have intelligent life forms. How many of them are pointing their "telescopes" on us or other devices that might be monitoring our daily activities. Or do they really care? Etc. etc. etc. Like I said, it's mind numbing.

Amazing and beautiful picture. And to think it's just small fraction of the universe in that pic! I would bet it's teeming with life!

WOW freaging amazing!

it is truly mind boggling at how little we do know, and how our entire reality we live in is just complete and utter bullshit.

i would love to live almost forever if i were healthy, it is truly amazing at the amount of things mankind has discovered and how we have not even scratched the surface of discovery.

Red Ezra 08-18-2006 12:36 PM
