Have you seen the MaxMind stuff yet?

It'll give you GEO info down to the city level.

They have a commercial version, and a free version as well along with sample code in a variety of programming languages:

Free? No, the database's cost money.

You can get the 'mostly' accurate country db from maxmind though.

No, they have a free version of their city database as well called Geolite City. Take a look at mah link.

Accuracy 60% on a city level for the US within a 25 mile radius.

Not really worth it.

Don't think it's too bad considering it's free.

I use the paid version personally, but I think the free version could serve its purpose for someone unable / unwilling to spend monies.
