I believe that, yes.

I know people in horrible situations and are totally happy. I know people in excellent situations and always find something to moan about.

Happiness is a state of mind.

Smile. I love you.

You work too much. Take a vacation. What's the point of working so hard if you don't get to enjoy the fruits every now and then?

I really believe that money DOES buy happiness. For some reason now that I drive a luxury car I'm much happier when I was my old ugly sedan.

Whenever I make more money I'm much happier than when I don't. When I was broke I was always depressed but now that I make more life is just so beautiful and full of opportunities.

It's not politically correct to say, and also very shallow and superficial, but for ME, money brings ME happiness. This is from my personal experience.

Everyone is different though. For some people they care more about family and friends or whatever, but for me personally, money will make me happy any time.

True happiness can be achieved only through masturbation. A close second would be through eating cheesepie.

I totally agree. A lot of my old friends complain about the day to day bullshit and don't seem to have any direction... A year ago I was in the same place, and decided to take the steps to improve my situation. I haven't made much more money in the last year, but I changed what I needed to make me happy on a day to day basis. And so far life is good.

And go where? Seriously, I hate travelling by myself and most people I know can't take a week off work. Work is one of those things I honestly enjoy, not much else that really sparks an interest right now.

Happiness is a state of mind for sure.

I've known some wealthy people miserable as piss and some poor people happy as shit. (wow, lot of pee & scat references there eh?)

I'm working to get back into a MORE fun position so I can get a bit of traveling done. However, I live in a gorgeous location, so to see some stuff I love looking at is only a 15-20 min drive in any direction.

That being said I'm really wanting to make a trip to Chile or Crete this coming year.

You just have to learn to chill and not let all the crap the world throws at you affect your peace of mind and happiness.

So its all in your attitude about things.

I always like to go by the fact you come into this world butt naked and you'll leave this world butt naked.

So everything is really fucking meaningless anyway.

my life sucks

I make money with almost no work, but not enough to life the lifestyle I'd want, so I sit here most day and refresh GFY...

I need to change sth soon... like f.e getting a girlfriend again or.. make more money by making some new good domain deal..... or move to another country, but then again, not sure if I'd feel comfortable spending money to live in a significantly more expensive place

From your posts you sound like a pretty intelligent guy who knows a lot about this industry, why not focus and get off GFY and spend 3 or 4 days a week doing some hard work in projects you know will make you enought money so you can maintain a better lifestyle, learn black or whitehat SEO

There are loads of third world countries you could enjoy that cost about the same that it currently costs you to live where you are now. Thailand - loads of adult webmasters living there now, China - Not so good for adult but your in the domain industry right ? So no big deal, Indonesia, Philippines - Loads of cheap Asian countries to live in. Your into the asian chicks if I'm not correct

I know of a lot of adult webmasters in Thailand having a great time (not just because of the bar girls) The lifestyle they can have based on the Thai economy is amazing, its definitely where I want to be in the next few years once I have bought a property in Belfast.

It?s hard to achieve anything Worthwhile without a reasonable amount of hard work. We're the lucky ones !! We are not restricted in the same way that most of the population is with their 9 - 5 jobs, we have freedom that most other people could only dream of !

I'm not 100% happy with my life at the moment either but it takes bold steps to make serious change in your life, its not easy but it can be worth it if you achieve your goals.

My goals are purely financial ones at this moment in time but if I achieve them I know I will feel a lot happier

I think so.. I decided long ago that I wouldn't worry about stuff that I can't control. I kinda have a "fuck it" attitude and I'm much happier now because of it.

The happiest people in life are those who appreciate what they have. Sounds like a simple concept, but most people on this board will never understand it. Of course they'll think they understand it and brush it off like they do, but they really dont.

Personally I'm happy with what I have and I'd like some other cool things but if I don't ever get them, it won't bug me too much. I mean sure I'd like a Ferrari or a Lambo but I won't be un-happy if I can't have them. However if someone here would let me test drive one of theirs it would make me just a tad bit happier.

I think my thing is I'm not unhappy but I am bored. I mean I like what I do to an extent but I'd like to do a lot more things. I want to build things like custom bikes or cars.. or hell I'd love to design my own car.. Or build a airplane or something or maybe even a house. Just so I could say Hey I built that..

That or go be some special forces shooter for awhile.. too bad you couldn't just do that on the weekends or something.

This is so true and most of the time we look at what others have and we forget to appreciate what we have ourselves...

I am very happy with my life, the way i am. I know that many other people live worse than i do, have much more problems and tragedies. So i wouldn'r offend God or someone in being unhappy.

making good money must be fairly new for you. it wears off after about 5 years or so. its kinda like doing the same drug over and over. eventually you build up a tolerance to it and it just becomes the norm.

life isn't perfect but i think im more happy now than i have been in a long time. for me, a lot depends on my social situation. when i used to spend all day long on the computer and not really hang out with friends, no girlfriend i felt depressed. now that i try and use the computer for work only 9-5 and get off and out after that, go for walks with the girlfriend, go up to cottage country for the weekend i feel better. although when im not making money i still can get depressed because it makes me worry about the future. its all about balance i guess.

I agree with you to an extent

I also don't believe money will buy you happyness, it can make life a lot easier though because 90% of serious stress that most working class people face is based on one financial reason or another.

I believe that there is some basic needs one must have fulfilled before one can truely be happy. For example, food, water, safety, shelter must be there first. I can't imagine one of those Africian children you see on TV who is starving and sick can be happy no matter what your state of mind is. Now once you have these basic needs met, happiness is a total state of mind.

you are happy when you make yourself happy..
But most of the time the mood and things that happen can make this feelings be stronger.
