photoshop cs
saw deans thread about PS, I use 7 and here's why: loaded up cs and it wanted to call home . . I blocked it with the firewall and then it was a slow load . . about 2-3 minutes while it tried to resolve the 'can't call mom issue' . . next it would dump the registration about every 3rd or 4th time I started the app and make me re-register with the adobe website, which is very slow and sometimes not even really working . . I don't really consider this a 'good work flow' I asked adobe for help, they told me to buy the 'expert' tech support package and they will figure out the problem for me . . I'll use ps 7 until another app comes out the will do the job and then I'll dump adobe, just like I did with video editing . . vegas video kicks ass and adobe premier sucks ass IMHO

I think the issues is resolvable however wanting to charge me to get a new app to run on my box was a bit 'out of the playground' as soon as I find another app to do the job I'll dump adobe |

I still use 7 for most of my work. Only open CS for select things.

I've read online the adobe bridge is really only a browser to the net for adobe to sell stock images? and that cs2 is a slow load, and that adobe is getting sued for altering the 'root' kernel for registration . . the same a sony got sued for doing it to stop piracy . . the only way to get rid of adobe now is to format the drive . . not really sure I want that on my machine and I sure don't want an app to log on to the adobe site every time I use it

![]() you're all aware that we're on version 9 (CS2) and that version 10 (CS3) is coming out sooner rather than later.....right?
for those of you concerned about workflow - the improvements in CS2 have tripled my workflow, and especially the combination of Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw 3 have changed how I do EVERYTHING..... I won't say anything mean here, but maybe check a message board or post a help thread here before throwing in the Adobe towel........what I hear is "I bought this new DVD player, but it keeps ejecting every fourth disc, so I'm switching to Asian VCDs......" The product is amazing and since their merger with Macromedia has only strengthened their innovation and market share. You'd be silly to stick with your comfortable version or ditch the product altogether because you don't have the time/energy/patience to learn something new. |
