Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

:mad Typos In Promo Material (vent & Q For Writers)

This is a serious question...How many of you program owners out there take the time to check the grammar used in your promo material? Do people get paid to write what is on there? I've heard of writers for adult...but surely there are qualifications, right?

Why do program owners release botched promo material?!? Surely they can read & do notice it. I have nearly 1200 banners on my server but 60 or 70 of them have obvious typos...

Nothing's worse than seeing a nicely designed banner that reads "Click Here For Vidoes! We Updtae Daily!"

Sorry, just had to vent. But really, do you know somebody who gets paid to write for programs? How much do they make on average?

I'd like to learn more about this 'job'...if it can be called that.

Hope to learn something.

Thanks,
c-lo

I think my biggest pet peeve is when they put the apostrophes in spots they don't belong....a recent example: when they had a big sign at Internext that had an arrow and read "Cabana's" above the arrow. I'm probably just a little pickier than the next guy but that's my vent...I also realize that nobody's perfect and mistakes are made/overlooked.

Hey, thanks for the replies guys (and girl). I'm adding you to ICQ Selenia.

FleshJosh: Yeah, glad I'm not the only one. I'm not quite that picky, as I don't believe the average surfer would really notice apostrophes or commas as much. But I've seen some really messed up wording...plural forms that don't make sense like "Click Here For Cumshot Actions" etc etc

Sometimes it's funny, but when I'm trying to get banners for my site, I don't want to have to convince a surfer to give up his CC to a guy who doesnt care enough to use a damn spellchecker (or his eyes for that matter.)

I do agree that things can be overlooked, but sometimes it's very obvious...like the biggest word in the ad will be a typo. Anyway, glad to see we're somewhat on the same page.

Jarmusch: Speaks volumes. Really. Not to be racist, but that's who it sounds like it's coming from when I read aloud.

Thanks again,
c-lo
