Pop-ups/new-windows not working!

For a few weeks now my IE6 has been going crazy. Pop-ups don't happen, ever, and I didn't download any software to eliminate pop-ups. Also, whenever I click a link that is set to open in a new window, it doesn't happen. The screen just flashes. In order to view the link, I have to copy the target and paste it into the browser.

Any ideas on what happened and how I can fix it? TIA!

check that you have javascript turned on

tools -> internet options -> security -> custom level -> (scroll down down down down down to "Scripting") -> active scripting -> enable ON

Yeeaap, JS is enabled. Any other suggestions? Starting to drive me nuts, can't order my new computer without having pop-ups. Would use NS, but it's acting up as well...

Empty all the temporary internet files. That seems to fix a few problems with the latest IE.
