Nooooo. I used to work for an airline and they don`t really care about your luggage. The most important thing for them is to send your luggage on time.

Fucking fuck fuck. :( Don't even think they'll allow me to carry on a book. I hope that's not the case though when I get to the airport and ask about it.

So there is no way you can take it with you? Sure?

Yup I did this on the way to and back from Florida. I know I was taking a big risk but all was good. :)

they search your checked baggage anyway..my kids bag got searched on our way to puerto rico and I would've never known if they didn't put a notice in the bag saying that they searched it. It also said that if you have a lock on your luggage and they can't open it, they'll BREAK the lock if your bag is chosen for a random search.

No. Not a chance.

When it comes down to it, it's the HD that counts! That's where your info is. Maybe you don't want someone reviewing the content on your laptop....

There are shock resistant hard drives. Think Acer offers them and others. so it's more the content that protecting physically. You would have a backup of course.

What's legal in the Netherlands, may not be in the states, so if they look at the data, there could be a problem. Plus all the other info - Statsremote etc. info shared with IRS!!! You know damn well there would be some sample checking or looking at at info on the HD.

How about this, you layover in the bible belt and end up in jail for possession of obscene pics..

I agree, that would be a more efficient way.

Not a chance, I'll ship it UPS/Fedex before I trust my laptop in the care of the TSA morons.

They aren't very good at that either. I have never checked in baggage, but I remember my ex would check her crap in and have it get lost.

So, now when I travel on business I have to figure out another way for my laptop to get there unless I drive. The problem being that my new laptop is supposed to be my primary pc. So, if I FedEx it early I am without my primary because I can't trust the airlines.

Well, am glad I did not book my flight for Amsterdam yet.
