I find it slightly disturbing that parents post pictures of their children online.

Does anybody else agree with me.
I just looked at a myspace profile of some woman aged 21, It has one picture of her and 8 others of her baby.
I just find that not very nice,

what with all the problems we face today as a result of the net, also would the child want it? im sure I wouldnt have wanted my childish face posted infront of thousands, without my permission.

I feel that the parents are doing it for themselves, rather than the baby.

Maybe I am going of on a tagent here. But I just find it ethically and morally wrong.

what are your views?

So you wouldnt want your kid to make millions as a child actor? Its just pics on myspace. What do you think some stranger will find your kid out of all of them, so attractive that he must track them down online, instead of visiting a mall and looking for one?

But the question would go back farther, since the invention of photography. They should have deemed then that no child must ever have its picture taken , for fear of crazy people seeing the picture.

Yeah...as well as walking with your kid outside. That shit should be forbidden. Everybody can look at your child.

Its not about what it says or anything like that. Personally I would not tell my daughter (or think of it) when she grows up, that I posted her on an adult forum My kid is a human, not a pet

I worry alot more about the parents who mutiliate thier child's penis with the barbaric process of "circumcision".

i refused to build up a website for my child, there are millions of sick people outside - what's if a pedophile is looking for new kids..
he studies the guestbook with all familiar stuff
"grandma writes: im so happe that you are now in groundschool xyz...."
sees pics from child+first schoolday, recoginses the school ...and so on

hey like i said chris its probably just me, but I think this thread went in the wrong direction. I wasnt meaning for it to go down the route of pedophiles, more down the route of privacy and later in life would the kid want that.

Arguably, a large cross section of the population might find pornography to be ethically and morally wrong. So what really is your point? Nobody's asking or forcing you to post pictures of your children, so why not just stay out of other people's business?
