is it legal to spam myspace with fake profiles?

I am seeing so many now and just wondered if its legal? would those people get reported to the police? and its quite obvious its a man behind the profile, not the woman in the picture.

Im getting kinda pissed of with all the friend requests

I think it would depend on what level of advertiser fraud News Corp would want to classify it as.

if you used the profile to make money maybe, getting someone to do something about it - never see that happening

fake profileS are not good with myspace
but if you have like one profile ... kinda lik bobby billards myspace page .... she makes bank off that thing im sure

but she is doing her OWN profile ... so if you have a hot girlfriend maybe you can get away with it ;)

Not connections, just access to their service if you already have broadband. (basically free TCP/IP)

not sure if it's illegal, but myspace could sue you for damages... microsoft and other companies have done so successfully in the past...

legal? of course it is. Ever heard of a law that says you cant make a fake profile on the internet?

Its probably against Myspace rules, but that doesnt make it illegal.

actually, there are some weird laws, not specifically about making profiles,
but that could be applied to fake profiles if someone really wanted to...

like it being illegal to harass people online -> bulk adding of friends with a bot could be considering harassment
