I was really into Travis and some of their hits, but havent heard from them lately?! What are they doing? I wonder how many times these songs have been played on the radio: Why does it always rain on me? Flowers in the window

The newest album is 12 memoires(october 2003)
I wish they would make more albums :-(

I got lots of respect for MM. I bet his IQ is way higher than madonnas, lol! Marilyn is the KING of branding.

The doors have some great songs, but I never listen to them. Dont know why really. But they ment a lot! Wouldnt be the same without them. And the movie with Val Kilmer is great

madawgz 08-08-2006 03:36 PM

I remember Mobb Deep was HOT when I was in High School. And I used to record every National Rap show on the radio. But I never recognized any songs, and my dancing sucked...
So there I was... back with my guitar and my rock cd's lol!

Korn and RATM see above. Public enemy once played in Bergen, and it was just too funny to watch this guy walk around with his big clock. And my best friend had to take him to McDonalds because he was so fucking hungry. This guy I guess is the founder of hiphop

I'm not sure where you heard that statistic, but it's not accurate. They went to school together and played in different bands when they were in their early teens, and then formed up once they graduated from high school (or whatever the British equivalent is).

They played a lot of shows in Oxford and released material under the name "On a Friday" before they became Radiohead. Their rise actually was rather quick, in fact.

They've been my favorite band for quite a long time, and I've read a few books about them. I will agree that they are an awesome band (greatest band in the world right now).

mardigras 08-09-2006 07:59 AM

I have a tie for 1st & 2nd favorite, so here are 4:upsidedow

The B-52's & The Cure

The Ramones & The Sex Pistols

(If you base your review of The B-52's on Love Shack & Roam you've missed the entire beauty of the band:winkwink:)

VicD 08-09-2006 08:01 AM

Simply Red, Guns $ Roses are among my favorites

dunefield 08-09-2006 08:02 AM

Velvet Underground and The Who...

damonx 08-09-2006 08:43 AM

the beatles... and the pussycat dolls but not for the same reasons :1orglaugh

Dinosaur is a 'grunge indie rock' band that started when Nirvana became famous. In fact Cobain was often opening for them and Sonic Youth and a year after Nirvana was all over the place so Dinosaur kinda stayed underground. They have pretty good harsh sound if you like that style.

Bikini Kill is a girl's punk band, pretty hardcore. The lead singer now has a new band that has a similar sound but more 'retro' called LeTigre. Maybe you'd be more familiar with that one. Im a sucker for chick's punk bands :thumbsup

No way I could just name 2 favorites. In Canada alone there are so many bands whose music holds so many memories for me it's insane.

Rush
April Wine
Streetheart
Triumph
Prism
Harlequin
The Pumps/Orphan
Chilliwack
Gary Wright
Jeff Healey
Tom Cochran/Red Ryder
Tragically Hip
The Guess Who

I love it all, and that's just to name a few. If I were to think worldwide my list would be a mile long of "favorites"
