Sponsors and Processors, Your BIG chance to help...

...the industy is HERE!

Take a piece of javascript or use an outside third party.

Capture the RESOLUTION of the surfers monitors.
Capture the OPERATING SYSTEM of the surfers computer.
Capture the LOCATION and LANGUAGE of the surfer.
Capture the BROWSER info of the surfer.

Then make all of this data public.

Let us know that the assholes with 800x600 (14%) that still use Windows 98, 95 or ME and use dialup (16%) are worthless...

This is the data from the users that converted out of the last 200,000 uniques on one of my sites.

Should be a similar enough market to be useful data. Good luck.

edit: Also, all of my traffic is North American and English-speaking, so can't help you there.

These users all paid in other words?

If so the paying users and the total pool of unique users is about the same.

In other words, there is no destinction that can be drawn between having a larger resolution or a modem and your ability to pay....

Nope as it turns out my theory was incorrect.

According to his data, the ratio of those who buy and the entire surfer pool are identical... So people with 800x600 or modems or windows 98 buy just as often as anyone else.

That is correct, these are people who purchased.. I, too, wish there was a correlation.

Thanks for sharing studiocritic. Larger and more unconventional monitor sizes will be coming soon. I'm currently browsing on 2048x768.

There are positives to the small constrains. It focuses attention more to a single concentrated area. It's possible that browsing is enhanced by the scrolling "surprise" method, where as the information is arrived upon as the surfer determines, instead of dropping a large cluttered amount at once.

Ideally, a site would read the resolution and connection speed of the surfer and load accordingly.
