I used to have my old pizza parlor in Brooklyn FedEx me Pizza and Sausage rolls. They'd individually wrap each slice in aluminum foil, have Fedex come out for the latest pick up - I think 8pm NY time - and it would be at my door by 9 or 10 am Cali time.
